STILL FIGHTING, STILL SURVIVING AND STILL CREATING

One only has to listen to the dialogues between the members of Fighting Cocks Group Yogyakarta to see the passion for this theme, “And the Cocks Are Still Fighting,” and the eclectic selection of artists. As a group they are concerned with artists who have gone through a process of growth and found their identities whilst simultaneously being concerned with supporting new, lesser known artists. The members of Fighting Cocks Group Yogyakarta are Dedi Yuniarto as manager, Zam Kamil, Nurul ‘Acil’ Hayat, Moch Basori as the key artist members.

Apabila menyimak obrolan-obrolan para anggota Kelompok Jago Tarung Yogyakarta, kita dapat segera ketahui semangat tema “And The Cocks Are Still Fighting” ini, dan mengapa pemilihan perupa dilakukan secara eklektik. Selaku kelompok seniman, mereka memandang penting proses yang ditempuh oleh seorang seniman dalam menemukan identitasnya sendiri, sekaligus memandang penting untuk mendukung seniman yang baru memulai kariernya. Anggota-anggota Kelompok Jago Tarung Yogyakarta yakni Dedi Yuniarto sebagai manajer, dan Zam Kamil, Nurul ‘Acil’ Hayat serta Moch Basori sebagai seniman kunci.

HUNTING DOWN THE TIME: MYTHS AND RELATIVITY OF TIME

A troubadour figure was riding a bicycle with super high speed. He passing through with his body bent like a racer, while his left hand besides the front axle as if will 'clutch' something of the path. Its roar cleaves the wind and the blood-red of mist. Behind the mist, Mount Merapi vaguely upstands and dead silence.

Sosok trubador itu mengendarai sepeda dengan kecepatan super tinggi. Ia melintas dengan tubuhnya membungkuk laiknya seorang pembalap, seraya tangan kirinya di samping poros roda depan seperti hendak ‘meraih’ sesuatu dari lintasan. Gemuruhnya menyibakkan angin dan kabut berwarna merah darah. Di balik kabut itu samar-samar Gunung Merapi berdiri diam dan sunyi.
